It’s time to play the lottery for Brian Boyles and Ed Streisel. Boyles and Streisel beat 17 million to 1 odds as they carded back-to-back holes in one on the No. 9 at Whitetail Golf Club on Thursday, August 5, 2010.
Boyles, the golf professional at Skytop Lodge said, “I started getting calls from other pros wondering if this was a joke.” This was no joke as Boyles (Skytop’s pro) and Streisel (an amateur) were playing the Pocono Pro-Am Golf Tournament at Whitetail when they teed off on the 137-yard No. 9. Boyle used a 6-iron, while Streisel hit a 7-iron.
Approaching the green and discovering that both balls where in the hole surprised both men. They had every right to be in shock an’ awe as Golf Digest reports the probability of back-to-back golfers connecting on hole in one are 17 million to 1. This phenomenon may never be repeated again, making this moment historical for both Boyles and Streisel, and the Pocono Mountains.
The Pocono Mountains is recognized as a golf destination offering golf enthusiasts more than 30 courses to play, and this historic golf moment is likely to attract even more pros and amateurs to the area. Visit Skytop’s golf website for the latest in golf packages and golf news.
Congratulations Brian, enjoy your moment in history!
