Oprah Magazine showcases a Life Size Gingerbread House

This December, Oprah and Ellen grace the pages of O Magazine with a life-sized gingerbread house as the backdrop. But did you know for the past 3 years, Executive Pastry Chef, Christa Kuhar has been baking hundreds of pounds of gingerbread, making hundreds of pounds of frosting and amassing hundreds of pounds of candy that will dress Skytop’s own life-sized gingerbread house. Guests of all ages will oh-and-ah this holiday season as they tour this life-sized wonder.

The construction of the Skytop’s gingerbread house begins the Monday after Thanksgiving. Chef Kuhar has planned some exciting changes to this year’s house. Skytop’s Pine Room (Skytop’s version of a lobby) is transformed over the holiday the lifesize gingerbread house coupled with 20,000 twinkling holiday lights, several Christmas trees and poinsettias scattered everywhere, plus a roaring fire creates the perfect backdrop to enjoy a an afternoon read, stop-in for afternoon tea or just relish the sights and sounds of the season. Don’t forget, the Pine Room also welcomes Santa on Christmas Eve.
